The brief I was working to meant that I had to find an unsigned artist and be able to come up with a music video, digipak and a magazine advert that would promote the artist.
My initial artist was Amanda Kaletsky who i found using unsigned.com, however due to us finding my partners song more appealing to us we decided to go with her artist Landon Austin. Landon Austin is an American artist however we did feel as though he had a global appeal as hes music includes themes that are relatable to a wide audience. My partner emailed the artist to get permission to use the song, which meant we could proceed with creating our music video, digi pak and magazine advert.
We felt that Landon Austin was a good artist to use as he belonged to the Indie genre, which we thought would be something different. The song had a clear theme of Love, so we felt that we could come up with some creative ideas to put into our media texts. The song "Once in a Lifetime" was most suited to us as there was a clear beat we could cut to, however because it was a fairly slow song we would be able to use that to our advantage and match the pace with the length of the shots and the transitions.
